2019 is in full swing, my friends! Which means our NYR should be underway as well. Our family is traveling for another week, so at this point, I am still making plans for *most* of my NYR. Today I am sharing with 4 healthy habits that I am adopting this year as my new year’s resolution.
A FULL NIGHTS SLEEP
A full nights sleep is so important for maintaining your health. It can help reduce stress, strengthen your heart, and even lower your risk for cancer (you can read about some more benefits from a full nights sleep here). This is definitely a luxury I took for granted before I had kids. But now that I have 2 little ones that are up at 6 AM regardless of what time I put them to sleep, I am making it a priority to get to bed earlier so I can get a full nights sleep.
NO PHONE ZONE
For the sake of my mental health, Michael and I are making our house a no phone zone after 9PM. This gives us time to decompress without the disctraction of social media and news. Plus, as someone who works from home on the computer, this is a great excuse for me to sign off at times when I may have ended up working through the night!
WATER, WATER, WATER
We all know how important it is to drink water throughout the day. Its recommended that we drink half our body weight in water- so if you weight 100 lbs, drink at least 50 oz a day. Drinking water has a ton of benefits, like boosting your metabolism and keeping your skin clear. So this year you’ll find me sporting my mega-waterbottle everywhere I go!
This habitcan be really healthy for your mind, body, and spirit- if you do it right. A goal of mine this year is to create a morning routine that I follow every day. I want it to include prayers, a light exercise, and reading a short something. I love the idea of engaging every part of myself in a healthy, and positive way at the beginning of the day. Plus. this will help prepare me for success throughout the rest of my day!
I am really excited to see the impact these habits have in my life once they have been implemented properly. What healthy habits are you adopting this year?
